Once you've downloaded the Gmail search button, enter your search terms in the Toolbar's search box, and click the Gmail button. If you click the Gmail button without entering any search terms, you'll be taken straight to your Inbox.

First, download the Google Toolbar and add the Gmail custom button. If you are using Internet Explorer and already have the Google Toolbar installed, you should still download the latest version to add the Gmail search button. And if you're using Firefox, click here for instructions.
