- Follow the instructions below to set up POP access in Netscape 7.
- Google Apps users, please follow the default instructions unless otherwise noted, replacing 'your_domain.com' with your actual domain name.
- Enable POP in Gmail.
- Open Netscape Mail 7.x.
- Click 'Edit,' and select 'Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings...'

- Click 'Add Account...,' and click 'OK.'

- Choose 'Email account,' and click 'Next.'

- Enter your name in the 'Your Name:' field.
- Enter your full Gmail email address (username@gmail.com) in the 'Email Address:' field, and click 'Next.' Google Apps users, enter your full address in the format 'username@your_domain.com.'
- Select 'POP' and enter 'pop.gmail.com' in the 'Incoming Server:' field. Google Apps users, enter the server names provided, don't add your domain name in this step.
- Enter 'smtp.gmail.com' in the 'Outgoing Server:' field.

- Click 'Next.'
- Enter your email address (including '@gmail.com' or '@your_domain.com') in the 'Incoming User Name:' field and the 'Outgoing User Name:' field, and click 'Next.'
- Enter a name for your Netscape Mail account in the 'Account Name field,' and click 'Next.'
- Click 'Next,' and then click 'Finish.' (Don't worry if you get an error message indicating that you cannot connect to pop.gmail.com. Just click 'OK,' and continue with the steps below.)
- Open the 'Edit' menu, and select 'Mail and Newsgroups Account Settings.'
- Check the box next to 'Use secure connection (SSL)' in the 'Server Settings' section (the port changes to 995).

- Enter '587' in the 'Port:' field.
- Change 'Use secure connection' to 'TLS' under 'Outgoing Server (SMTP),' and click 'OK.'

* Did you click 'Save Changes' after enabling POP in Gmail? To ensure that Gmail can communicate with your mail client, be sure to click Save Changes on the Gmail Forwarding and POP/IMAP settings page.
